How Chicago Works: 2016 Olympics: Impact on Chicago and the Business Community

Cost: Free for current LGSB students, $25 for UIC alumni, and $30 for non-alumni. 

The Business Alumni Association and the Liautaud Graduate School of Business are proud to present and invite you to the 2009 “How Chicago Works” event series. This series explores iconic Chicago venues, institutions and events with “behind the scenes” tours and engaging business-related discussions and presentations from keynote speakers who are experts on the venue or tour topic. At the conclusion of each tour, our guests are invited to socialize at a networking reception with fellow CBA alumni, friends, current students and business leaders.

This meeting/presentation is intended to provide UIC alumni, friends and colleagues with an overview and discussion of the Chicago bid to host the Olympics in 2016. Our objective is to discuss the overall business impact of the Olympic bid on the city of Chicago and the state of Illinois. Attendees will learn about how the Chicago Olympic 2016 Committee has been marketing the city to the International Olympic Committee and their efforts to generate local support. Discussion will also include the economic impact on Chicago.
